Description
Paper cup is a liquid container introduce by Lawrence Luellen in the early 20th century.
It is an object used all around the world invented to reduce the public health issues to drink from shared glasses in public places.
Made out of recycled polystyrere or recycled paper lined with plastic or wax to cover gaps for leaks.
Plastic cups are made in different colours and designers. Companies made their own design and logo and put it in to the cup to be recognised as a separate brand.
They come in different sizes, 4oz, 8oz,10oz, 12oz,....
The prices vary depending the sizes of the cups i.e. A paper cupof 10oz is £0.26.
A Personal View
I have chosen paper cup because I think is a usefull and healthy object. In this times where everyone is running to work, uni, home... is a perfect way to have your drink ready to go.
The fact that is healthier than to use glass material is another good point to avoid health issues.
Also is made by recycled materials and is bio-degradable.
Context
I can compare the paper cups with the tradicional glass or porcelan cups. They all have the same ability to contain liquids, but the glass or porcelan are more expencive and more difficult to carry.
Thanks to the paper material is more difficult to get broke what is made it safer.
