Description

The Macbook air is the first ultra thin notebook. It weighs just 3lbs and has a 13.3 LED backlit screen with backlit keyboard which is especially beneficial for working in all different lighting. The Macbook air is completely mobile and wireless connectivity works at its best.

The basic cost for the low spec version of the Macbook Air retails at £1119 and up to £2000 for a top spec.

The usability of the Macbook air is great not needing big CD/DVD drives. Software and other programmes can be installed by using the Remote Disc application where programmes can be accessed from other Mac/Windows PC via Wireless connectivity on the Macbook Air. All Macbook Air notebooks come in the sleek silver finish

A Personal View

The Macbook is a personal favourite as I have recently moved from Windows to Mac.

Having had previous PC notebooks, they have all been pretty heavy in weight and a bit too much to carry around as I do carry my notebooks wherever I need to go.

The look of this notebook is very elegant and in a way will make you stand out from the crowd as not many people have Mac notebooks compared to windows notebooks.

Context

There are many other slim notebooks out there to give the Macbook Air competition like the Sony Vaio VGN X505VP, with having the ultra thin style, minimal weight but the Macbook Air outshines with its sleek and and elegant finish. The overall processors speed on the Macbook Air do out shine the PC Sony Notebook.
