The Iphone combines three products together which include a revolutionary mobile phone,a widescreen Ipod with touchscreen controls and an internet communication device with desktop ,email,web browsing,maps and searching.The casing of the Iphone is small and lightweight which measures 115mm x 61mm x 11.6mm and weighs 130 grams. It comes in different colours which include a sleek black gloss and a sophisticated white colour gloss.The Iphone also provides the users with very high quality design features and stunning design concept.It comes with a multitouch colour screen which as well as the users input method which allow the user to control all the phone functions using the multi touch screen.
The screen measure 3.5 inches and its screen resolution is 320x420pixels.The apple Iphone comes with built in camera and video feature which allows the user to capture still photographic images and moving video footage easily with their portable device.The advanced photo management application provides the user with everything they need to gain the perfect finish to each and every photo.
A Personal View
I love the sleek design of the Iphone and its for the first time that so many great ideas and processes have been assembled in one device.As with most apple products,the Iphone comes in a very tidy and simple packaging.I personally feel that the Iphone has the best user interfaces which brings advanced features within the reach of inexperienced users.Apple has also made abstract features such as call waiting and conferencing attractive and very simple.Once again we find that Apple has done a great job in making the functions of the Iphone very simple and user friendly. Safari on the Iphone is also one of my best Mobile browsing experience.The web pages are well rendered and its very clear.One another great feature which i think works well is the zoom in and zoom out function when viewing a webpage.I also like the visual voicemail in the Iphone,it allows the users to skip throgh the voicemail that they want to hear,rather that listening to each one. The Ipod function in the Iphone also works really well.Users can listen to music while using other applications on the Iphone and can also switch off the display to conserve the battery life too.The sound quality also is very good and its also excellent to watch movies as the screen is wide. Another great feature is the youtube application in which users can view good quality videos on Youtube.
Context
The Apple company has managed to overcome lots of problems surrounding existing mobile phones and has created a device which has many functions such as video player,email,web browser,notepad,googlemap and supports other widgets. It’s a very smart move on the part of Apple, which highlighted the change in the way the company is operating by changing its name from Apple Computer, Inc. to Apple, Inc, reflecting the fact that they are no longer just a computer company.Apple has claimed that the Iphone represents a major innovation in the phone market. Apple has taken a lot of features that are available elsewhere and made a very nice package which looks unique. Palm(makers of Treo),Rim(makers of the Blackberry) and Nokia will obviously not be much impressed with the entrance of apple in this market. Phones like the nokia E70 also has a great web browser and does google maps too.Though other phones may have the same functions the Iphone will still be more popular because Apple has always impressed people with the unique design of its products.The Iphone will still be popular among users because of its sleek design and touchscreen interface.
