Description

Rubik's Cube is a mechanical puzzle invented in 1974, by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Erno Rubik. Originally it was called the "Magic Cube" by its inventor, this puzzle was renamed "Rubik's Cube" by Ideal Toys in 1980. The cube is made of plastic and each side is covered by nine small cubes that are stickered with six solid colours which when scrambled is almost impossible to bring back to its original form. It is said to be the world's best-selling toy, with over 300,000,000 Rubik's Cubes and imitations sold worldwide.

A Personal View

The rubik cube to me is a icon from the 80's its something i grew up with. it is a mentaly stimulating toy which can be fun and anoying.

Context

The Rubik Cube has inspired 100's of variations since its birth most are cheap imitations others are puzzles that have moved on from the standerd block design to sophisticated shapes and forms.
